4. Calculators and tools
- Calculators give estimates based on the numbers you enter and the assumptions shown, such as expected returns, inflation and tax rates. Actual results will differ.
- Each tool that depends on tax or market rates shows the date its rates were last reviewed. Rates change through the Union Budget, Finance Acts, CBDT and CBIC notifications, and SEBI and exchange circulars.
- Brokerage, exchange and depository charges differ by broker. Treat your broker's contract note as final.
- Calculations run in your browser. We do not receive or store what you type (see the Privacy Policy).
5. Tax law
Tax content refers to Indian law. From 1 April 2026 (Tax Year 2026-27) the Income-tax Act, 2025 replaced the Income-tax Act, 1961; earlier years remain under the 1961 Act. We show new section numbers with the old ones in brackets where helpful. Always verify against the official text before you file or act.

- We take care to keep content accurate and up to date, but mistakes happen and the law changes. Content is provided "as is", without any warranty.
